A man has been cleared of flashing at a schoolgirl from a Carlisle park.
Gary Paul Faunch, 42, of Mealsgate, near Wigton, was found not guilty of indecently exposing himself in the Chinese Gardens part of Rickerby Park following a trial before city magistrates.
The court heard a schoolgirl had been walking home along Eden Bridge last September when she noticed a bare-chested man.
Magistrates were told she then saw him waving at her. He had his jeans and “baggy boxer shorts” down to his ankles.
She said she thought he was aged between 20 or 30, with brown hair, wearing a beanie hat and had a pot belly.
Geoff Lockerbie, defending Faunch, asked her if she was absolutely certain the man in court was the one she saw with his trousers down. She said that she was “pretty certain”.
